I would suspect the cam cover gasket first.

 

Yeah or your PS ? Just clean it up again n just turn it on n step on the gas n open your eyes lol you'll found it... It's maybe something samll

I can be the timing cover or the valve cover. It's a pain to track down. Pull the rear valve cover and do your best to look at the timing cover to see if it's leaking from there. If it isn't or you can't tell just clean the head surface and put a new valve cover gasket in place.

 

valve cover gasket is the highest probable source!

 

Most likely going to be the rear valve cover gasket had the same issue with my 01 other issue could be the power steering lines if its running down the line dripping on the alt. Or could be timing cover leaking(possible not likely but has happened)

Giving this thread a bump.

Weird problem. It stopped leaking for a few months but the leaking came back and I had to replace the alternator because it was soaked in oil.

Almost impossible to tell whether its the valve cover gasket or the timing covering.

 

id say valve cover...try to see if you can figure it for sure if its oil or from the power steering which in that case would be red tranny oil

 

Get off your butt and replace the valve cover gasket already... We can only guess and everyone has said it's probably a valve cover gasket.

Besides the valve cover gasket, what other parts should I order before I attempt this job?

 

set of valve cover gaslets, upper intake manifold gaskets, (would recommend lowers too, but not required to fix valve cover leak), EGR valve gasket. then go to Autozone and get brake kleen and rtv for the T joints on the valve cover so they dont leak when your done.
