A similar post was made by admins on april fools day, which did turn out to be a joke. The prices then if i remember correctly were completely out of control compared to these prices listed now.

I mean how many members do we have, 2000! At $10 each thats $20 000 a year! Not to mention the $40 Premium membership. Hosting shouldn't cost that much! No other car forum charges for membership. Something is fishy here. Plus what are the banners for? Paid advertising! Paying for membership will slowly Kill NECO, much like Ford Killed the Cougar!

agreed. especially since "newbies" won't want to pay for a service while they are starting here. Atleast I sure as hell woudln't have. But we shall see...

i sent PMs out to a few members tonight. as most of u know i flirted with the idea of starting my own neco forum. i'd fit the bill. and i was thinking about it all day again after i read about them charging now. club3g split happen last year when the same idea came about, and there are now 2 websites. "you have to pay to be a member" i was really hoping to get the 3 people i PMed tonight and hoping to bring them along as admins but they fastly shot that idea down. partly because i think they have a deep loyatly here and our moderators on this board. i got that idea shot down so i scratch that.

i dont know about u guys because this is the beginning of my good bye but i certainly wouldnt pay to belong to a forum that doesnt have off topic (lounge does not count ) , cant post porn, 16kb sig banners (what a joke) and has a censored filter enabled. remember profanity isnt wanted here. , an admin who shall remain nameless that uses his powers for his own humor and enjoyment, and the list goes on

I just don't understand why thousands of other boards that have all the same features if not more, are free??? and this one has to charge for it. Like Silver6g72 kinda said, I think someone has let the success of this board go to their head and now wants to cash in on it!:kick:

it's the beginning of the end of everything. Having to pay, or segregate between those that do, and those that don't will kill the forums, and it will FOR SURE kill Cougarfest. WAY too much drama already...but, to have a divide???!?!?!? it won't work.
