All,

I'll be putting some snows on my stock rims for the winter season. I previously got a great deal from DiscountTireDirect.com on some summer rubber and rims, and had a buddy drive them into Canada for me. This time around, looking to minimize hassle and buy right here, in the land of the expensive and overtaxed.

That said, trying to avoid crappy tire because I know their prices aren't ALL THAT.

So where are some good places you guys buy tires? I'll call around if you guys give me some suggestions... looking for snows in 205/55/16 for the stock alloys (pretty common size, almost same as stock). Maybe some Yoko's, or Blizzak's, or Arctic Alpine's or something.

Thanks,

Massiv.

Hey,

I'll go anywhere in the GTA really, but I live in central downtown. I work in Oakville.. and I visit my mom's sometimes near DVP & 401, so anything's convenient. More about price.

Thanks,

the best place i've found in terms of price is wheel and tire zone at birchmount and lawrence (in scarborough)...
to give you an example, just today i called to inquire about kumho tires (i need a 225/40/18)...they didn't have any in stock but their price was $179 installed. i called two other places after that, and their prices for the same tire were $231 and $216 respectively. I've done business with wheel and tire zone before, and they are really nice people who go the extra mile to help you out.

Me! Let me know what you get for prices, and I'll see what I can do after the fact.

I currently sell Goodyear, Michelin, Bridgestone/Firestone, General/Continental, and Pirelli

I'm sure I can get you an awsome deal....Tires are my specialty....

All good information, guys. I will have my research assistant call around and get the best prices.

Stock 16's = 215/50/16. Thinking running 205/55/16 for snows, as they're likely more common that the stock size for cougars (and cheaper too).

I'd be looking for 4 (of course) brand-name snows. No Crappy tire Nordic brands. Want something decent... Mich's / Blizzaks / Yoko Guardex... etc.

Whoooah... Definitely check out Nokian Hakkapalitta Q's or T's, best snow tires out there in my opinion. And they cost the same/or less than the rest. Alpin's and Blizzak's are more suited to ice, whereas Nokian Hakka's are suited to snow and slush which is what will cause you the most trouble in the GTA. BTW I would try at Steelcase tires'n'mags regardless of what tire your looking for. Good luck!

In the end, ended up going with another European tire on the stock rims: Semperit Sport Grips. Apparently they're pretty hot in europe. Cost was $92/tire at Jensen Tire in Oakville. Great service, and price was pretty much the best I could find. They had them balanced right the first time, and on the car in no time. Would recommend for those in the west end.
