just learned a Dashboard is called a 'Dashboard' cuz in horse and buggy days, when they would whip the reigns to make the horse Dash, they'd often kick up dirt. To remedy, owners would install a plank of wood out in front of them to prevent the dirt from coming up... and obviously the word stuck as technologies evolved.

& just when u thought you wouldnt learn anything today.
