What Have You Done To Your Cougar Today?

I came to notice our fourms don't have one of these threads, where people post about everyday things they do to make thier cougar that much better or comfy to sit in.

Just recently buying my Cougar i find myself almost every single day doing something that improves my enjoyment of the car.

I noticed after all the years of having this car some of you owners still make improvments. Even new owners make improvements. Even something as small as "I got an oil change" can go here.

Just today i passed my safety/emissions inspection after fixing my P0401 code.

Tomorrow im going to get my tags and military base stickers :)

So what have you done to your Cougar today?

With it being that seized up I'd spray down each hole every night till you actually change them out
I put quite a bit of PB in there and covered it up so nothing would get in, hope it actually works or else I might have to destructively remove them or worse have to take apart the engine.

Still didn't come out. Think it made have been crossed threader or over tightened. I'm probably going to try and get a quote from taking the head off and remove it that way.
That might expensive as they need to take the timing chain off and probably wouldn't use the original for obvious reasons.

Yup, was thinking of that plus all the old rubber. I think ill just ignore the plugs for now and pretend/hope there not factory while I work on my stereo.
Mounted up the new EBC Yellow Stuff front brake pads, and judging from the limited amount of driving I did afterwards, they are NO JOKE. More brakes than tire now, for sure. Will have to be careful in the brake zones.

Worth the price? I might have to get some to go with my new 278mms on the back wheels.
I have no abs, do you think they’ll make it too easy to lock up?
Possibly but more likely in wet conditions if your tires aren't as good in the rain.

Mmmm black oil!! Forgot how stupid the slanted oil filter is, got it all over the exhaust pipe.

I was locking up my 200-tw track tires. Granted this was on a dusty street, and the tires were cold, but yeah - that's what I was getting at re:careful in the brake zones. It's going to be a lot easier to lock it up on the track now.

I saw that post haha, the only bottle that would fit was the oil once which was full, now that's its empty I can do that hack!!
Picked up a full set of LED bulbs for the tail light clusters. Didn’t know if the hyper-flash would be an issue - it was. So I ordered an upgraded flasher to calm that down. Should arrive this weekend.
I have leds every where and you dont need a flasher also mine are Sylvania zevos. Also you won't have to change the front to match like chevys which will hyperflash unless you do fromt and rear.
Speaking of not having abs I was coming to a stop light slowing down then I hit someone's oil leak and locked my brakes up and slid at least 25 feet and stopped just before the white line. Not only that it looks like I finally need to rebuild or buy new front calipers because when I was sliding I let go of the brake pedal and it stayed locked. Also found out the brake pedal booster clip only keeps the pedal all the way up and doesn't depress the pedal enough for any braking. And just keeps the brake light off so now thr brake lights are always on which doesn't really bother me because they are bright as crap. Now that I think about it the clip might of been the reason for it staying locked but the calipers or hoses in the front have never been changed.
I saw a Cougar on the road today! I don't even remember the last time I saw one driving. Black 01/02 with peeling clear coat but no visible rust. Looked like probably a base model but it's hard to tell at 70 mph. I did notice it was packed to the gills with stuff...we all know Cougars are amazing moving vans.

I've only ever seen a cougar on the side of the road. Such a rare sight these days especially on the east coast. Gotta love the moving van tailgate though!
New flasher module arrived today. Installed that and the turn signals are now flashing at normal speed, no load resistors required.

However, still had a brake bulb not working. Appeared that the spring on the side was collapsed a little and not making contact with the bulb body. Tried to bend it back out and it snapped off. So now I’m looking for a new harness for the right tail light with 5 good sockets, if anyone has a spare lying around…
