What Have You Done To Your Cougar Today?

I came to notice our fourms don't have one of these threads, where people post about everyday things they do to make thier cougar that much better or comfy to sit in.

Just recently buying my Cougar i find myself almost every single day doing something that improves my enjoyment of the car.

I noticed after all the years of having this car some of you owners still make improvments. Even new owners make improvements. Even something as small as "I got an oil change" can go here.

Just today i passed my safety/emissions inspection after fixing my P0401 code.

Tomorrow im going to get my tags and military base stickers :)

So what have you done to your Cougar today?

My project Cougar is supposed to be a true GT build. Mostly highway cruising with capability to handle the twisties when called upon. Cougar sport brakes are adequate for my needs, I would rather drop money on cosmetics or comfort than braking capability I'll never need.
I also have another car that is increasingly competing for my fun money...it's still under warranty so I'm not going too crazy yet, but I'm getting itchier by the week.
It would be fun to have a Cougar project with adaptive/radar cruise. GT is already quite nice compared to some chevies I've had to drive (not to mention gas mileage) and wow do the cloth seats on my new 99 SUCK compared to leather.
The seats suck no matter what material it is mostly due to the poor lumbar design but leather is slightly better than cloth

I always wondered if the power seats had lumbar supports, the lower controls make noise but nothing happens haha
28 lbs LOL.

I believe it, those rotors are beasts. On the flip side, they would swallow a lot of heat.
If this car ever gets "finished", I hope to someday swap them back to either Cougar or Focus brakes...I suppose some custom 2-piece rotors could be made but I have no need to drop that kind of money.
I’d possibly take the Baer kit off your hands if you ever decide to do that swap.
The 01-02 leather seats are more supportive than the 99-00 leather seats.

Power seats DO have lumbar adjustment; at least all three of the sets I ever had were so equipped. I've never driven one with cloth seats.
As someone who slept in the '00 base cloths on an 18hr drive to Cougarfest year ago, the OE 01+ leathers are incredibly comfortable on longer drives.

I don't know how many miles were on them when I got them from Wade, but they have given me no fatigue on 3hr legs of road rally driving. The lack of cruise control was my weakest link.
Try sleeping in a Krikey. It doable, but not fun.
3rd slave cylinder in a row. Didn’t even make it past bleeding it. This is unreal and such b.s.

The lumbar is controlled via a electric motor in the seat back on the right side and uses a cable and has a plastic gear. Mine stripped and so it doesn't work any longer and the lumbar is all the way in so that probably why it seems to suck but I'm 6 5 as well so that doesn't help.

Ah yes more plastic gears to break, I love Mercury Cougars!!
Started the spark plug swap.

It’s a miracle I managed to pull this bolt out.. not shown is me struggling with pliers for 10 minutes.

Plugs were seized and I would rather not wrench them till they break or strip, hopefully overnight WD-40 solves it.
Pb blaster will ork better and its not flammable so if you need heat it'll take it without you burning the hair on your hands.
Not trying to say it's dirty but a clean surface helps with identifying any potentially faulty parts in the future and your hands get less dirty. Even with gloves they rip easy or get in the way.

I'll try and get some tomorrow. Someone else recommended heat and I did do this while the engine was still quite warm but they just did not move at all. This is the price you pay for use factory plugs after 230k miles.

PB blaster plus an impact driver and it still doesn’t budge at all, I’m starting to think my spark plugs are permanent
How long are you waiting for the pb blaster to work?
It may help if you warmed it up too, since a torch isn't really an option.

Couple hours but then I had to clean it up and drive to get some other parts. Going to apply more and wait a couple days next.
With it being that seized up I'd spray down each hole every night till you actually change them out
