Related to this topic, my wife surprised me yesterday by asking me why I'm building an old car with an old engine, instead of transplanting something new and modern into it.
I explained to her that transplanting from a newer car would most likely require an entire donor car, and a lot more customization and she didn't even blink before saying next time I should just do it right.
I'm taking that as the go-ahead to start plotting a kit car or some sort of radical build.

Sounds like what she wants you to do! You want to make her happy, right? Right?

Huh, I heard "figure out how to get a 2.7L Ecoboost into that 'old' car". . .

I work in a very wealthy town and lining up behind exotic cars is not unusual, but I found myself behind an F-type R a couple days ago and it was every bit as glorious as its photos. The rumble was low and sweet, It took everything I had to keep up with him on the highway on-ramp and he was probably just barely above idle. Very sexy. It looks like its moving even when its standing still.

Yeah... I guess my Cougar is a little spoiled in the company it keeps. Local Cars & Coffee at M1 Concourse. I've only encountered two other Cougars there, but both older.
These are my photos lol

This probe that turns up is pretty awesome though. I'm generally parked along the track where he is, but I've been known to lurk in garages as well on occasion due to connections with staff and garage owners. I really should get into the habit of photographing my own car more...

Inspired by B3nn3tts post, and also a thread I saw on another forum, Here's a thread for whatever random hunk of metal is turning your head on any given day

Here's mine this week...A kit:
I wouldn't put all the racing stickers on it, I would stick with a straight black or red paint job and I'm undecided about the stripes. Maybe for black, almost definitely not for red.

Nice car. :)

If you've ever thought about building a perfect adult go-cart, now's your chance! It looks like its almost all there, probably another 2-5k to finish.

Yeah, not sure why they think its a 1998, probably just a mixed up date lost to the haze of time and not fact-checked by anybody because its so far removed from its original state anyway.

I'm a little surprised at how many of the interior details and design cue's carried over into our model though, I wasn't aware of that.

Typical "Florida Man" at work. I'll spare everyone the rest. You have enough information to find it.

Yes, the Cougatti's have made their rounds many times...That Florida guy is all-in on the illusion though, he was threatening law-suits left and right for people making fun of him.
I do love that he posted a picture of the speedo reading 130 with the tach somewhere in the 3500-4000 range...that would derail his lawsuits pretty damn quickly.

I'm not sure how I feel about the new Puma ST - but man, it sucks that the rest of the world gets this, while we have to look at that terrible Ecosport...

It looks like Ford bought the Nissan Juke and this is the next generation.
I dont hate it for that segment...Three pedals is a plus!
I dont like it when they slap a big screen on the top of the dash like that, it looks like an afterthought. Car companies need to do better than that if they are going to engage in the screen-size wars.

My nephew just finished putting his Formula back together with a fully rebuilt 455. I'm amazed he wasn't fined for driving with open headers for weeks, but Ohio...
