What
West Coast Prowl 3.0L Edition. Thats the "working name" I'm using, kinda taking advantage of the "3.0L" name from the engine. IDK, I think its catchy myself. If you don't like it, well poo-poo on you! Basically its the 3rd Annual Cougar meet for everyone out on the West Coast (kinda similar to CougarBash).

Where
All indications from everyone interested are that we will go to Las Vegas again this year. Everyone had a blast last year, and Vegas was a lot of fun and a cool place to hold a gathering like this. I've heard that the Stardust hotel has some special thing for "car groups" to try to lure car meets in. I'm not sure on the exact details, I'll check on them and add them when I find out.

Now this does NOT mean that it WILL happen in Vegas! I'm still very open to other idea's for location. Amongst the ideas we could use.
San Diego- Cool place to hang out with other members (unless your car gets broken into and your stereo stolen. Sorry bout all that Byrd.)
Phoenix- Lets us AZ guys host our first multi-state meet. Hot Import Nights is gonna be here mid-October, we could do something around that.
L.A.- IDK, we could find something to do there.

Let's hear your ideas for location!

When
We're looking at a mid-October timetable, I set out a possible October 14-16 weekend date if we go to Vegas. Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) is having one of their "Friday/Saturday night drags" that weekend.

Friday, October 14
Test ‘n’ Tune -- 6-10 p.m.
BFGoodrich Midnight Mayhem No. 14 -- 10 p.m.-2 a.m.

Saturday, October 15
BFGoodrich Super Tuner Saturday Night -- 6 p.m.-1 a.m. -- Buick Grand National Racing Association, Supras Invade The Strip ’05, Euro Entertainment Super Tuner Car Show.

This would be great to get out to at least one of these events and team up on some of the local ricers.

Why?
Because we can!

Now that Fest is over, lets see what we can do to make this year's event a good one! Give your idea's on what you want to see with this year's event.

10/29/2005 07:00am Lucas Oil Series Finals
10/30/2005 07:00am Lucas Oil Series Finals

To me, if we do Vegas again, our 2 best options for dates are

September 30-October 2
October 14-16

To me, the mid October date would fit in best, as it lets the summer cool down without getting too close to the Holidays. So I guess this is Vote #1 for Oct. 14-16, if we do Vegas again.

Why set this up so soon??....I know a lot of people are dumping a lot of money on driving to Cougarfest (i one of them) and we do not have a lot of time to think a lot about and event that would be 2 months and 2 weeks after Cougarfest...I went to the first WCP with one of the originators of WCP, NorcalCoug. And we all decided to go because we we not spending the time or money to go to Cougarfest, so we had plenty of time and money to prepare for it.

My advise to you is to start planning it in late August and Early September. By then people will have enough time to gague there bank accounts, vaction time and there willingness to attend another large scale meet.

Thanks Roswell, I'll just go ahead and pull this back until mid August at the earliest.

I wanted to jump early to avoid the problems we had last year with scheduling (and my dumb ass being stupid, sorry bout that). I really wasn't trying to make FIRM plans now, just kinda gauge everyone's opinions and which direction they think WCP should go.

I'm also not going to CF, so I wanted to do what I could to help while most people are prepping for Fest.

Edited original post for clarity.

Now that Fest is out of the way, I'd like to get this settled down ASAP so we can focus on making this a good one, instead of bickering amongst ourselves like last year (and yes, I realize I stirred up my fair share of trouble last year, and I won't be that dumb again).

Agreed. Unlike CF, WCP is easier to put together becuase there isn't a certain hotel for us to stay at, theres no registration for this event, its a far smaller crowed we have to deal with, and the current location chosen most people can get to in 1 day's time....I say give it till the end of August or the 1st week in september. From experience with the people going to cougarfest, most won;t know if they have the money or the time off to go till then. Like i said before, a large majority of the Cougar crowd (weather on East or West Coast) are 9 to 5 daily workers some with families, so making plans for another event a week after one has past is not quite as easy for some people as others.

Give it till Sept.....that will be plenty of time to plan. It was more than enough time when NorcalCoug planned it...and he planned it pretty much in a days time.

When the time is right i'd be glad to help plan it if you need it.

Dude, West Coast Prowl is such as small event with no big official anything going on that it only takes a couple of hours to plan it out, then a couple of days for people to settle on dates. Seriously, the first one was planned in by me within 7 hours (including 5 hours of wasting time surfing the 'net looking at strip clubs before I finally decided to check travelocity). That one had more people going than the 2nd one which I didn't plan. So, think about that for a while. ;)

OK NorCal, have I let you think about it long enough yet? Or are us RepubloBushFanboys not allowed to go to NECO meets anymore?

Well, I guess we can eliminate any chance of this happening this year now. IMO its too close to the holidays to do it now, and we won't have another "window" until early spring. I'm not opposed to a March date at all, in fact I think that would work great. Give everyone a chance to do their annual "tax season mods" to show off in Vegas.

What do you guys think of something in the Spring? Its great weather there, and not really in a "peak" season so hotel prices shouldn't be too bad. I still would love to have a big West Coast meet, but with the forum crashing for a couple pivotal weeks back in October, that kinda screwed that up.

Lemme know what kind of idea's you guys have.
