Plans for this years race have been in the works for some time now. This year looks to be bigger and better then ever. In the past we have held the event in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada but due to relations with the track owner going sour(he screwed us out of money and is in legal trouble as well now) we are moving the event to a new track. We are on the verge of securing a track but we won't be revealing this info as of yet till plans are finalized. Should know in a week or so.

Anyways, this years race will again be a ONE day event but as a switch it will be a WEEKEND experience from what we are planning. Meaning we hope to secure deals on dyno tuning, dyno runs, tours of V6 facilities to see new products in the works as well as other facilities, a large BBQ and more. The track we have in mind is a well known track and I personally have been there myself and its a great track. We even have connections to get magazine coverage again, maybe in both major magazines. Last years race SHOULD be in next months MMFF so keep an eye open for that.

We are looking at having the event again at the end of spring, on either the Canadian long weekend or Memorial long weekend, one of the last 2 weeks in May, leaning more towards the last weekend in May which puts it 2 weeks after WFC. If these dates are not available it will be some other time in the year and we will try and accommodate as many V6 car groups as possible, remember this event is attended by ALL V6 FORD cars, so Mustangs, T-birds, F150's, Rangers, Cougars, Probes etc etc, so we have to work around many different event schedules.

Date info and more details will be available very soon so people can start making plans. Last year we had over $8000US in cash and prizes and this year we hope to equal that if not surpass it. We are currently seeking help on designing a race logo, if anyone wants to submit a design please email the pic to [email protected] or post it here, please keep it simple and to 3 colors, (not counting black or white) so technically 5 colors if black or white is in the image.

This event is gonna be HUGE, hopefully we can get some 11-13 sec cars this year, so far no one has surpassed the 13 sec barrier at this race but we know its been done in other parts of the country by other V6's, so lets show the world what the V6 can do. Like past years we will have a bracket class and a heads up class. NHRA rules apply. The race website will hopefully be up soon.

Stay tuned for more info to come.

Hey Ken, just a heads up....

Being that it's likely (not confirmed) memorial day weekend it may fall on the same day as Can-am. Not to mention that Jaime is aiming to do the V6 challenge in the states (likely Milan) in Michigan. So there is a MUCH higher potential for MC NECO to go to that.....could be big. The other option he's considering is Grand Bend (which would be pretty tight 'cause it's an hour away). But this years is going to be FAR larger. You guys should DEFINATLY consider coming. I'm going to be helping with some of the details as they arrive for the V6 challenge and be passing it on to Neco and CEG.

Hey bro, the race is most likely gonna be on a Sunday, but we are trying to organise a bunch of events on the Saturday to make it a WEEKEND EXPERIENCE, like discounted dyno runs, dyno tuning, tours or facilities and such, This stuff may or may not interest you but what about having your Can-Am cruise on the Sat adn coming tot he event on the Sunday? What about having the Can-Am event int he same location as us so you can take part in these events as well and then go off on your cruise or something? Justa thought. I saw your pics from last years Can-Am cruise, Dan showed me, looked like a great sucess, we hope to get that many cougars at our event hopefully as well, as this race is all about promoting the V6 no matter what type of car it is.

Keep you eyes open in next months MMFF for last years race coverage, maybe they will have one of the cougars int he pics, ya never know.

Hey Ken, Niagra run from NY to Det.....that's AmCanAm :D could be cool, and potentially large being it's MC Neco right there. since it's mostly you, Jason, and Carl who come to Canam (sorry if I missed others) Mike, Chris, Ron, and myself, we could cruise/caraavan up. And if you guys left Friday you could likely crash at my place (1.5 hrs from Det)Friday night, hit the weekend there.

Just an idea :)

but this is soley on securing the track.

And Jaime.....will the track let us rent on memorial (US) day? because when we had it here last year it wasn't a canadian holiday. That's likely why Grand Bend might be a safe alternative. Camping at the pinery, or cheaper lodging/cottage rental.

what day is actual Memorial Day? We are trying for either weekend, whichever we can get, but leanign more towards the Memorial day weekend so guys from farther down int he US can make it and have an extra day to travel. Grand Bend is being considered as the alternative as well.
