Is it best just to keep this piece in place and then just paint or take it apart, it seems like in place is best and then maskin Everything off.
Any hewlp is greatly appreciated

Honestly, if you want to get it done right, you need to pull it out, clean all the carbon out of it :) and take it a professional shop to get it powdercoated. It won't cost much to have it done, and you'll know it will be done right and last forever.

Don't forget to buy new gaskets :beer:

so if i take it off i wont have to worry about breaking any seals or anything, is it just a cover?

If you pull the UIM to be powdercoated, you'll need to be new gaskets to replace the old ones.

1. Gaskets between UIM and LIM
2. Gasket between UIM and TB
3. Gasket between EGR and UIM


I think that's it? When you pull it apart you should know if there are any more. You'll need to pull everything off the UIM if you are having it powdercoated.

I had my SVT one re-powdercoated black because it was all scratched up. This is only semi-gloss and it shines like crazy!
