I get the feeling most of you have no idea what you'd be getting into with a turbo, or Sc at that. I researched for 2 yrs before Putting a SC on my 1995 Probe GT ATX...To all you atx people...say good bye to your trannies after 5 min. of driving at even 5psi making about 200hp...YOU NEED TO UPGRADE THAT ATX. I had a Level Ten Torque converter, and recalibrated valvebody, and a large tranny cooler, plus tranny flushes every 5000-7500 miles. That ATX will not handle the power sorry. To the MTX people, some tranny work is in sotre for you guys, but nothing spectacular, unless you plan to run a lot of boost, making alot of TQ which will eat the tranny alive. There's a lot that goes into this. Don't just think anyone could do this, cause they can't. You cannot cut ends, you need every part, and don't be cheap. If you don't have the time and money, it's not worth it. If you can't tune a car, if you have no mechanic ability in case something goes wrong, then you will be screwed. Engine fires are now extremely possible, and will you know what to do? Will you have the money to replace the tranny and/or engine if it blows? There's a lot to look into. I may have done a lot of research, but there's still a lot I don't know. Please, do some research. I don't want to see any of you guys lose alot of money, or possibly your lives if something goes wrong. Yes I have actually watched an aftermarket turboed car explode...completely. The hear got so intense, it actually melted the pistons and rods...well the ones stuck in the block. The others were all over the track. NO KNOWLEDGE = NO CAR...
Besides that...there is a place in washington state that will do a custom kit too, I will find out the addy, and pass it along. I would be interested in a turbo kit too, if the price is right.
