i was looking for a lsd for my car and found a focus web site that had them for 579 plus shipping i was wondering if it would work in my car it said it fits a mtx75 but i was unsure if there was interal differance between the transmission in our cougars and the mtx that is in the focus?

here is the model of the lsd 397-M-4204-F20
here is the web site Ford Racing Torsen T-2 Differential - JEGS

The diff is the same for the Focus MTX-75 and the Cougar.

Just be sure not to get the Focus 6-speed diff from the SVT.

I think it's compatible; it's just not PRACTICAL for the Duratec powerband.

the svt 6 spd has a different bellhousing and is a onepeice with the trans the mtx75 has a removable bellhousing but I have heard about there being a differance in input shaft sizes... I pulled my eng and trans last night to get started on my v6 swap I will measure it ... do any of you have one laying around that you can measure for me?

i thought the focus mtx isn't compatable with the v6, am i wrong. i thought the shift tower, FD and a torsen/quaife is interchangable. i thought the gears were different.

sorry hijack
