Question: Are 5" x 7" front and back the correct speaker sizes for a Cougar?

Best Buy told me 6.5 were the door speaker size so I bought a pair of Rockford
fosggate 6.5 which sounded great but are the wrong size!

I have read some people go with 5 x 7 other say 6 x 8 some people say the 6.5
round's will work with mod's and they sound better than the 5x7's!

I'm looking for a speaker that will drop right in, no cutting some drilling etc. etc.
that is a easy fit and has great sound.

any suggestion? and what is the correct Speakers Size ?????????

I personaly like Infinity speakers, usualy most people either love them or cant wait to get rid of them. If you do get them, get the top of the line ones, Kappas, not the reference series.

Yes I have to agree with coyotefreek go with Inifinity Kappas:thumbsup: They sound great!

I just bought some Kappa 5x7's on ebay, $171 total for two pairs. I'll be selling my Kenwoods when I get them.

i had a set of Infinity 6 X 9's in my last car, and there was little bass response. Ended up going to Pioneer 4-ways, and had them until i got rid of the car.

hehe infinities top of the line would be the Kappa Perfect's unfortunately i dont think they make a 5x7 in that model but the kappa's are great..5x7 will drop in perfectly but you will have to extend the wires a bit unless you try to run new ones..and 5x7 and 6x8 are the same thing just measured from to different places.. 5x7 is the inner size and 6x8 is the outer size or total speaker size..i just bought and installed PG tantrum 5x7 they sound great too...

Infinity Kappa perfects are subs, iirc...

and yes Kappas rock... some people dont like it because its mid range isnt as good as others but i love mine....

I went to buy some Infinity Kappa 5x7's and found out how much they were.

A bit over my budget so after listening to every speaker I could I bought 2 pair
of Boston Acoustics FX8's 2 way's on sale and they sound great. Cost $225.00

If infinity Kappa sound better than the Boston, they must be incredible.
The sound board was down at the only place that carrier them so I have no idea
how they sound.

The install went smooth 3 hrs. exactly. I installed foam sound insulation
in the rear quarters behind the speakers, seamed to help some.

I would recommend them, they sounded better to me than. Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, Rockford fosgate,
Xplod, Kicker, etc. in the same price range.

If anyone is looking for mid priced speakers check them out!!!!

hehe kappa perfect's are the line above the kappa series...there are 61/2" componenets as well as 5 1/4's too, and yes there is also perfect subs a Q series and a VQ series..
