I had some requests for pictures of 15% tint and my stereo install, so here they are. The stereo install is a bit messy and....unfinished but it performs well.

Holy Hell Look at that Wheel Gap!!
And yeh, she's dirty.

nice choice on system! i like the tint too. was it hard to mount the amps to the back of the seats? arent the backs metal? i know i tried to drill some holes in it to mount mine there, but stopped after trying for about 5 min, and just decided to mount it to my sub box lol. but the install is lookin good!

Thanks, Naw it was easy to do, just drilled that sum-***** down. ;)

I'm thinking of Diamond Plating my entire trunk.....and the sub box......O_O can you do that? How much is Diamond Plating? I could probably go with the cheap lower quality stuff.....I don't put stuff in my trunk anyway so it won't get scratched.

yeah, with that huge box in there, i doubt you could fit anything in the trunk. so why not just dimond plate it? not sure how much it costs though.

ghetto install! :thumbsdn:
big ugly box, wires everywhere, mismatching amps...
but yeah, as you can tell - all my comments are strictly superficial. Theres nothing there that some carpet & some wire-looms wont fix :)
and as you said too... its unfinished.

about the metal:

I'm not sure about down there, but up here but Diamond Plate isn't too too expencive i suppose... i was quoted $250 bucks ($175usd) for about 5 or so square feet of it (the same kinda DP that you see truck bed boxes made out of... the good stuff).

the PROBLEM, is cutting it, since that stuff is hella thick, you will need to either pay someone to do it, or buy a special tool - cause your basic hand-held dremel WONT 'cut it' *no pun intended*
its also VERY heavy... so you you would have to come to terms with being a "20second cougar". :flushed:

edit - tint and car look good, especially with no orange reflector!

Your car looks nice Alex. You shoulda come down to the show today with Julie and Chas.

Tints look nice, and the box is cool. I personally use my trunk every now and again, so I could never have something that big back there, and I do mean THAT big. When I saw that pic I was like HOLY HELL that box is huge. But then I was like, well, that's what he wants. Julie said it hits really hard, so that makes up for it, and it looks like you sealed it nicely from what I can tell.

Wow Alex! It looks good! A little messy, but I know you'll clean it up.. If you need any extra wire or anything, let me know. I think I still have some of it in my glove box along with one of your tweeters or something..

Trust me people.. this sub hits VERY hard.. it will really make you question if there is only one sub back there! :)
Good Job Alex!

Thanks all. Its been in that unfinished state for about 2 weeks :p. I'll get it done eventually though. I kind of want to build a false rear of the trunk so that the box looks 'embedded' into the trunk. What is wire loom btw? Is that the black stuff that goes around wire?

And I really need to brace that box down :) getting tired of it slinging around when I get throttle happy.

Your correct on the wire loom. It's that black plastic (i believe you might be able to get them in other colors if you look hard enough) accordian looking tube split down the middle to run your wires inside to help clean up the look of your install.
I think it'll look sweet once you get it all cleaned up and carpeted or whatever. If you do decide to go the diamond plate route check out a few machine shops or even some welding shops. A lot of these shops have a laser cutter. Just give them a few dimensions and fork over some mulah and they'll cut up some aluminum diamond plate for ya. It might be a bit expensive though, so if you don't have much money. Then this may not be the route to go. Also, make sure you ask to see some already cut materials from their lasers. Some of them cut really crappy and jagged. Others cut real smooth and nice.
Do the cops give ya much hassle for your tint?
