Seeing as my exhaust sucks, and is way too loud, its falling apart, its time to redo it.

Here is what I have.

2.5" Dynomax Trubendz
MSDS headers and Y-Pipe (2 Bolt Cat Flange)

The major bottle neck is that I have the stock cat still on the car.

Heres what I want to do.

Take the MSDS ypipe, and weld a flex coupler to it.
This into a 2.5" Car Sound High Flow cat. From the cat run some 2.5" pipe to the current exhaust setup.

I want to remove the dynomax muffler right after the cat, and add
2 magnaflow mufflers to the tail pipes. Or add a resonator right after the cat.

I AM SICK of this car being loud, and right now its crazy loud.
Any thoughts on 2 rear mufflers versus 1 main muffler?

The other dilema with this situation is, I do not want to sacrifice HP for
quietness.

Thoughts?

Buy a 1000w amp and two 500w 12 inch subs, then you won't hear your car anymore?

:cover:

I'm not sure what you can do to quiet down the car without sacrificing performance other than what you've thought of already.

Cut the cat off your "sh!tty" 2-bolt flange, and have a 3" cat welded to it. Then take 3" stainless pipe to a 3" Borla ProXS muffler, 2.5" reducer at the split to resonated tips.

So how loud (or quiet) is that ProXS muffler? ($89 on ebay:))

I want NO resonance when on the freeway, and I don't want to be setting off every car alarm I drive past. :-/

You may want to look into TruBendz new test pipe... it is $70 and for people who have MSDS headers and don't want a cat anymore... just a heads up

If a 2-bolt was avaliable that is how I would go.
However I want a cat, I'm not a fan of cars that pollute.

1 - 3" High-Flow Cat
1 - 3" SS Flex Pipe
1 - Magnaflow Muffler
1 - Fresh Tank of CO2 Sheilding Gas for my MIG welder

We'll see how this project goes. Hopefully its alot more quiet now.

Not as quiet as I wanted, but sound MUCH nicer.
The car pulls MUCH harder, seems to have more lowend grunt also (I wasnt expecting that)

The car absolutely hauls on the freeway now!!
This mod, plus the GMK intake =

im interested in seeing a pic next time yr under the car. Did you retain your duals? sometimes I think i'd like to convert my dynomax duals to a single exit setup w/ a 2.5" muffler up front and a long fat "glass pack" at the end.

how long did it take you to replace the muffler / cat / piping? I have the Brullen Y-pipe with its high flow cat which is 2.5" but I still have that 2" pipe from the cat to the muffler and a 2" muffler via trubendz design. I doubt itd make much of a difference for me to change it to all 2.5" but it still bugs me
