Just wondering if there has been any discussion. We just going to do a repeat city again? Meets seem to do well in PA/OH/IN area.
https://www.catsccc.com/2019-events... I know there is a 50th celebration for the 1969 Cougar in Auburn IN (i think) the june 22/23 weekend. might be nice to just tag onto that and let them do all the work. (i need to check that date as well)
Id show up if any of my cars worked and it wasnt so far away. Its always in like ohio and Im down in NC. Its got to be even worse for mid states and out west.I'll work out just about any date or place. I would hate to see CF die now, we should also be brainstorming ideas to inspire some new people to come out.
But thats an excuse to drive your car through some of the prettiest scenery in the eastern US...8 hours alone with my car on gorgeous roads isnt a deterrant, its a motivator. I drove from Boston last year.Id show up if any of my cars worked and it wasnt so far away. Its always in like ohio and Im down in NC. Its got to be even worse for mid states and out west.
Yeah I get that but if Im going 8-12 hours to something called Cougarfest. I'm not showing up in a civic. That's just wrong on so many levels. But thats an excuse to drive your car through some of the prettiest scenery in the eastern US...8 hours alone with my car on gorgeous roads isnt a deterrant, its a motivator. Having said that, its a valid concern, but unfortunately theres a big geographical membership gap between you and the people who are willing to host the event. Since our membership is pretty low these days its unlikely that we could support a CF "South" or a CF "West" unless we miraculously find a way to pick up some new motivated members.
As for the lack of running Cougars, I'm pretty sure literally half the cars last year werent Cougars. Its just nice to spend a few hours with people who have the same irrational passion for a worthless car as you.
I do kind of like this idea, there is a 1974 and up class!!
