Just wondering if there has been any discussion. We just going to do a repeat city again? Meets seem to do well in PA/OH/IN area.

there has not been any discussion about it. i know at fest last year stu said he would put one together for the detroitish area, but i/we havent pushed the issue. I know my July is full already with atuox and spartan races, i think i only have one free and its in my best interest with the wife to keep it free. It would be nice to get something together since its the 20th of the NECO. I know there is a 50th celebration for the 1969 Cougar in Auburn IN (i think) the june 22/23 weekend. might be nice to just tag onto that and let them do all the work. (i need to check that date as well)

I know late July I'm going to be busy two weekends for the Airstream club's international rally.

I'll work out just about any date or place. I would hate to see CF die now, we should also be brainstorming ideas to inspire some new people to come out.

I kind of like the idea of the June 22 event; I have a vacation weekend planned on the PREVIOUS weekend, so that works out there.

Plus I love that most of those Cougar owners hate everything we stand for, so it might be a fun troll, especially if there is some sort of racing event involved.

Id show up if any of my cars worked and it wasnt so far away. Its always in like ohio and Im down in NC. Its got to be even worse for mid states and out west.

But thats an excuse to drive your car through some of the prettiest scenery in the eastern US...8 hours alone with my car on gorgeous roads isnt a deterrant, its a motivator. I drove from Boston last year.

Having said that, its a valid concern, but unfortunately theres a big geographical membership gap between you and the people who are willing to host the event. Since our membership is pretty low these days its unlikely that we could support a CF "South" or a CF "West" unless we miraculously find a way to pick up some new motivated members.

As for the lack of running Cougars, I'm pretty sure literally half the cars last year werent Cougars. Its just nice to spend a few hours with people who have the same irrational passion for a worthless car as you.

Yeah I get that but if Im going 8-12 hours to something called Cougarfest. I'm not showing up in a civic. That's just wrong on so many levels.

As for the scenery, I've been in N.C. for about a decade and have traveled that direction quite a few times going back to Mo. to see family, so east coast scenery really isn't a motivator.

I've gotten highly motivated to get one of the cougars driving recently so I'll keep an eye on this stuff. It's going on February which gives me what? Like 5 months to get the car driving to a point I trust it to make the trip? If I can get the car to the point to make the trip I'll go. But right now count me as a maybe but closer to a no then a yes.

I do kind of like this idea, there is a 1974 and up class!!

I was one of those last year without a Cougar, first time since 2010 and the year I missed (2016 I think).

I'll definitely have the Roush back on the road, and I'm trying to get motivated to get the yellow car back on the road too. I want to Auto X this summer and also have a reliable summer daily after I sell the Explorer.
