First of all, I would like to say how much I love my cougs. He has always been faithful to me and my need for speed. With that said, I would like to say I don't know what came over me two weekends ago. For some unbelievable reason, it seemed I had unconsciencely decided to destroy my car. On Saturday it got hit with a baseball and received his first ding. Then because it was a beautiful day, I had gone driving around with the windows down and the sunroof back. When I got home, I left them down to put them back up later. Needless to say later never came and it downpoured that night. So in one weekend, my faithful cougs was banged and drowned. I felt awful, I still do, but it took for my cougs to be in the hands of my body guy to realize how much I took him for granted. Which starts the worst two days I've had since getting my cougs. While my cougs was getting worked on, Enterprise had promised me a Grand Am to drive. Well, I think cougs did not like that and told them to make a mistake and only have a Ford Escort available so that I would not have my head turned by any other car. For two miserable days I drove this tin can on wheels with a wind-up motor. This car was so bare, I mean absolutely, positively no options, everything was manual. The seats were cheap and uncomfortable and when it rained we could not hear ourselves talk over the sound of the rain. At stoplights I was accustomed to taking off and leaving everyone behind, but now I was one of the slowpokes I used to laugh at. Then the magic call came...my cougs was ready to come home. I got there to get him and I just stood back and looked at how beautiful he was. Then I climbed in my seat and felt the familiar hug of my cougs snuggle me in perfectly as only cougs can do. Then to let him stretch his wheels out, we hit the highway. When we first started to take off, he stammered a little to remind me that our absence was all my fault and to never let it happen again. I promised to be more diligent in his care and he promised then I would never get stuck with an Escort again. I learned a lesson...absence does make the heart grow fonder...especially if you have to drive an Escort rather than your Cougar.

And now its soon to be a made-for-tv movie....

All it needs is a car chase during the baseball scene, and a local dam giving way during the raining, and it would be a blockbuster hollywood movie....

ok. I get the hint. Maybe I love my cougs a little much. But you have to admit, it would be horrible going from a Cougar to an Escort, even for a short time. And yes, mine is a he. If it was a she, then that would be a little freaky since I'm a she.

Dude that is nothing. One month after I got my coug in 99. I was coming home for Thanksgiving and did a slow rear ended another car at a light. No damamge to both cars, but still got a ticket. Then a day later I left my emergency break off and it rolled down a hill, chipped the hell out of the curb and hit a tree. The impact of the curb knocked my wheel off the frame, damaged the right corner of the bumper and fender. Got woken up by a cop who asked if I knew where my car was. And I said yeah "it's right ther........well it was there." Of course I had a couple drinks that night, 2 beers in 3 hours, he smelled it on my breath and accused me of wrecking the car and walking up. The cop should have checked the air bags because they did not deploy. Meaning no power to the airbags during time of wreck so car was not on. Needless to say I was really depressed for the next week. Car spent a couple weeks in the shop. Drove my moms Ford Tempo during my seperation. Departing is such sweet sorrow.
