Well...the Cougar is gone. for 5 days anyway. Yesterday it was in the shop getting an elecrical test and it passed with flying colors. there were no problems....despite the dimming I was experiencing at 2am and the battery light coming on (but conveniently it was allways off when I took it to the dealership).
Well, today I was going to get my paycheque when the light came on so I pulled a U turn and went to the dealership, no sooner did we hook it up, revved it 3 times, and BOOM smoke, and the car shut down...the radio was still playing so it was quite dramatic
the car is dead at Ford, we attempted a new battery....nothing, they did manage o turn it over once, but it shut down 5 min later.
Needless to say, I now have a 2003 Cavalier courtesy of discount rentals sitting where the coug once lay. I am getting a new alternator, main wireing harness, and battery as the electrical system took a 3 volt to 13.33 volt hit multiple times and fried a few things. They are also reserving a day to check all of the ground wires.....
Needless to say, unless someone wants to pick me up, I don't think I'll be making Leos place this weekend. I really want to go, but can't take the rental car out of Ontario.
