Well, after a year and some change competing in STS (or CMT at local events... ouch!), I've decided to "detune" the Cougar to run in GS. I didn't really have the car modded enough to be competitive in STS, although I was close to (or in some cases, in) the trophy spots in almost every event. It looks like I should be able to do everything allowable under the rules for GS before next season starts... at least I won't have any excuses then!
It's been a frustrating second half of the season... after a couple of great events in the middle of the year, I drove like crap in the second half of the season. It was all capped off a month ago when I broke a connecting rod on the street, ending my season a few events earlier than I planned.
The GS plan should also allow me to start saving for a real race car... I don't know for sure what it will be yet. Probably a small Formula car or possibly a Sports Racer.
So, any tips from veterans of G Stock autocrossing? I should note that I'll most likely run in a street tire class, the full-blown GS class tends to be pretty empty around here.
