I had naxos blue 9006 in the low beam slot and changed them to the 9005 highbeams oem, remembering that there was a comparison showing that using the 9005 oem would be brighter, and they look like crap, they look like 45 watt light bulbs compared with the naxos 9005 that I have in the highbeam spots.

My question is do I also have to change the wires around or just put 9005's in the lowbeam spot?or in another way is the same amount of current passing thru both harnesses for the highs and the lows?

I believe all you need to do is just sand down the 9006 connector to fit into the low beam...there shouldn't be any wires involved...but then again I guess you know this since you're talking about currents...

*Next person please*

well of course 9005s in the highbeam slot are gonna look brighter than 9005s in the low-beam spots... mainly cause the low beam spot is a projection style spot, which focuses light in one general area, while the high beam spot is a mirror reflective spot which doesn't focus the light, it just reflects it. I don't believe there's any current difference coming in there, but to find out, just put 9005s in both low beam spots, hook the 9005 plug to one, the 9006 plug to the other, and if one is brighter than the other...

I have the 9005 naxos in the highbeam spot and the oem 9005 in the low beam spot the high beams are so much brighter it overwhelms the lowbeams........anyway Im going to change them all to piaa 9005's

well it would make sense that aftermarket lights will be brighter in than the OEM lights, no matter what slot they're in... and your highs should ALWAYS be brighter than you lows...

and u also shouldnt be putting 9005 in the low beam spot anyways, i dont understand the logic there, whats wrong with the PIAA 9006 in the lows and 9005's in the highs, i just think its kind of stupid and pointless??

first, you shouldnt be telling anyone what they can and cant do.

second, the point is to make them brighter and whiter so I dont know how that could be stupid........... in fact this whole website is about modifiying your car so whats the problem? you know how many people have tried this?......a lot so guess they are all stupid too, but since you are venting your opinion I think its stupid that you didnt answer this with some useful info............now that is useless and a waste of time.

and just so you know, you shouldnt drive over the speedlimit

you shouldnt modify your engine

and you shoudnt pick your nose while you drive

but people still do it so lay off MC-NECO Member and Loudmouth

easy there cowboy, there are plenty of better ideas to make your low beams brighter than putting the 9005's in there, you can do whatever the hell you want, thats your business and your car, all i said was it seems kind of pointless to move your high beam bulbs as your low beams, people are gonna be pissed as ****, with your bright ass roliing down the street, all i'm saying is the same thing ccc3 said, your brights should always be brighter, and putting your highs in the lows just aint right, but hey its your car you do what you want, i suggest just grabbing some 100w aftermarket bulbs and they will be plenty bright.

Eazy there turbo.

Did you ever think of the results of switching a higher wattage bulb into a spot that it isnt designed for? Well.. just some of the fun things that can happen are:

1. Melt the wiring
2. f$ck up your housing
3. melt the projection lens

Yep, those are the fun things you could do. each bulb is selected based on heat variances, and other related items. If you want brighter and bluer, go buy HID's.

why thank you, you guys are all fine gentlemen and I appreciate all your assistance, GRRRRRR

anyway the point is I read several months ago a thread about using the stock 9005 in the lowbeam spot and it got good results, obviously its a little brighter but not as bright as I thought.

also I hate when somones lights are not aimed correctly so I reaimed my lows so that the upper line of light ends at the bumper of the car in front of me so there is no problem of blinding or annoying others.

Hids are out of the question too expensive

as for the fast blinking bling bling turn signals I will quote

<< i dont understand the logic there >>

"fast blinking bling bling turn signals?"

<< i just think its kind of stupid and pointless?? >>
