I know alot of people are having issues with their sunroofs, as the heat can cause body flexing. I have seen alot of issues where people simply need to lube their roof, a burnt switch or motor, rarely rails. This guide is pulled from fords grease monkey book on how to repair and test every system in relation complete with troubleshooting tree.

This Document refrences another section on how to remove trim to get to the sunroof, I have included that as well. This file has been watermarked, so if I find that it has been sold on ebay or moved to another thread without giving credit to this one, I will report DMCA as per eula, and remove the file as well as supply law enforcement on EVERY user that has a copy of it..gota love adobe for that tracking function. So please, be respectful of the hours of work I put into this for everyone. I have secured permission by Technical Service Publications to post it here, and here is where it needs to stay.

This is great! Thanks.

I agree - the rails are hardly ever the problem. I've seen several sunroof failures, and it's almost always the motor - or rather, the large gear on the motor splitting from heat and binding up inside the housing.
