Does anyone know if a gasket set that is suited towards rebuilding a 98 SVT contour is suited towards my 3L, SVT hybrid? (with the exception of head gaskets of course).



I have attached a picture. Unfortunately, the guy doesn't know the part number.

Fel-Pro makes a complete line of gaskets for either engine as well.


Matter of fact they are better quality overall and larger (in the right places) to boot!

For instance the OEM exhaust manifold gasket ports are VERY DAMN SMALL!!! Definitely for a 3L

I used all Fel-Pro on mine, with the exception of the head gaskets. IIRC
For those I used Ford parts.

The OEM gaskets are Excellent quality. No question.

The "major" Fel-Pro gaskets are just a little better overall. (Head, oil pan and exhaust come to mind)

Most of the gaskets are just rubber inserts. It would be hard for either set to be any better then the other.


Actually I would only consider the Fel-Pro exhaust manifold gaskets as a MUST HAVE. (like I mentioned earlier)
