when i start my car my sub will make a really loud noise like it is resonating or something... if i turn the switch for the sub to off it stops then if i like turn the amp up to much it will do it again... i just got this new ampa nd sub and don't wanna hurt any of it... any ideas? it is wired using a stock headunit but the guy i bought it from kind agave me some info on how he recommended doing that and it seemed to do pretty well..

Is there a Fuse on the battery line also? Do the subs work? if you just hear a buzz some kind of interferance check your spaker wires for holes, and they speaker wires can't be REALLY long. that causes static noise.

Turn the gain down. Mine did the same thing with speaker lead imputs.

Are you using a RCA Line out converter? From what I can tell is that you dont have one, that interference is from the output of the speaker line out from the headunit. The signal isnt at the right level, a line out converter will fix your problem.

i am gunna have to re install my convertor...
they guy i bought the sub from (distributor for every high end brand of stuff... had diamond and polk mom and eveyrthign coming otu the butt when i was at his house. but he said wiht a ford you coudl wire directly into the speakre wire with rca's and not use a convertor so i was trying that and i guss that is the problem i will jus have to re-wire my convertor in to the loop
