I just got my cougar about a month ago, and i'm having a problem with the head unit, every time i turn on the headlights it'll short out, I already tried cleaning the grounds, and tried finding a short with no luck, but it's still doing it. Anyone have any ideas?

Tracking down a short can be very dificult. If its just stock, throw a post up in WANT TO BUY, theres alot of them laying around im sure some one would sell one for cheap. If its aftermarket then im not sure what to say. Try posting in Audio Eletrical maybe.

Other idea is to pull the 'illumination' wire from the back of the headunit harness... more than likely, something is wrong with the headunit where the signal pulled once the headlights/parking lights are enabled causes it to short.
