Just curious if anyone knows approximately what it would run to ship a car from Chicago, IL. to Phoenix, AZ and a what companies to check into for this.

I forget where I checked but from Baltimore, Maryland to Columbus ohio was almost 500 bucks. I ended up picking it up myself and gas was 150 round trip. I had to tow back the cougar I picked up. If its driveable and you have the time I would say go pick it up and haul it back yourself. I didn't have to pay for a truck or dolly though so you mihg thave to factor that in yourself.

I can't remember what company I checked with. I know i was looing at rental prices of a dolly before I got one from a friend and it just popped up there so I checked it out.

You can do a google search for some places and a get a free quote, but DO NOT give them your email address, or you will never stop hearing from them. I had like 20 emails within 5 minutes from all these different companies.

The quote to ship a Contour SVT from Montana to Pennsylvania was around $1,100.00, btw.

SVT Contour from Utah to WV/Northern VA area was $850 ... sorry, can't remember the name of the carrier.

Checked Google and almost all wanted an email to quote me. For those of you that hate givin out an email just use a [email protected] email address. The go to dodgit.com enter whatever name you used and check the mail.

Looks like driving would be cheaper just not sure it would be worth it. I figure $100 flight and $300-$400 in gas. Then just worrying if it will make the trip back.

My dad has a 99-00 Escort ZX2 that I was considering for my daughter's first car (she keeps thinking shes gonna get my coug :rofl basically driving to school and back. But with 150k on it don't know if I want to try and drive it 1700 miles to get it here.
