I just ordered some wheels from discounttiredirect, and the guy I talked to told me about something called "ride match". You can read about it here. I've never heard of this, so I declined, but I was just wondering if anyone had any real world insight about this, and if it's of any benefit to get it done as opposed to just balancing.

Well I read that and agree in concept "Tire uniformity is the amount of change in stiffness of the sidewall and footprint when load is placed against the tire. " BUT ... I would think that would be a problem with the cheaper brand of tires. Cheaper in quality, rather than price. And if this is true, what could you do about it???

To be honest, it sounds to me as if it is a way to get an additional 80 hours of shop time paid for by the customer.. This maybe a problem with 23" tires but I've never run into it on 18" and smaller.. :disgust:

Also known as Road Force balancing... only really required if you have ongoing issues with normal tire balancing.
