Im guessing this is for an older generation cougar? youre not going to find that info here. BUT if the chrome piece is what holds the top down, then I would say yes, it needs to come off. Its hard to tell with such an up close picture as well what year it is
Replacing vinyl top
So I removed my drip rail molding I was wondering if I need to remove the chrome inside to replace the top
