No, seriously, isn't there an allen or a small flat set screw on there? If you want to take it completely off (meaning the base it attaches to as well) heat does well. I'd use a hairdryer on high heat, point it in that area, and try to wiggle it off.
there is a clip that holds it tight. there is a little gap you can fit a flat head screwdriver into. stick the screwdriver in there and pry it off, once that is off the mirror will slide off with ease.
