i've heard this rattling, somewhere near the front, whenever i press the clutch down in neutral, i dont hear it, but once i take my foot off the clutch, it rattles again

Can you help us out a little - give us some idea where you hear the noise - in the cabin, engine bay, outside?? Could be motor/transmission mounts if you don't hear it when there isn't any strain on the engine...

The sound you're hearing is a normal synchronizer sound- We all get it in some form or another- When you put your foot on the clutch, you stop the MTX from internally rotating, and the synchros stop. Take your foot off (even in neutral), and you spin the internals back up to idle speed.

haha well if it seems to be rattling without normality perhaps you should describe like Jason said, "where the noise is coming from"
