just wondering what this problem sounds like to you. my car stalls sometimes, sometimes it just sounds like its going to stall. don't have a problem starting it up in the morning, some minor bucking on occasion, usually in 1st when i'm just coasting looking for a place to park. it stalls almost exclusively when i slow down (rpm's go from 4000-0 in about 1 second. i read some posts about fuel pump and iacv. just wondering which one you guys think it might be. 99 cougar 2.0l

I would guess you have an automatic trans based on how your RPMs go? Does the bucking occur on accelleration or after prolonged corners, both on a near-empty tank? That problem would be the fuel pump pickup screen being clogged. As for the stall... could be the Idle Air Control valve sticking shut.
