There is a small hole about 2"x3" on the bottom back side of my transmission that allows you to see the teeth on the flywheel, is there suppose to be a cover on there, cause mine doesn't have one, it's just open. Do I need to be concerned, it seems it would be vulnerable(spelling?) to all climate. Thanks!

I be willing to bet... fairly surely that you shouldn't be able to see your Flywheel...

i bet that is the service entrance. if you reach up behind that opening is the screws to take it apart, but i would imagine that that should have a cover. maybe it fell off, i would get it looked at ASAP, if dirt or rocks got up in that, your fukked.

Found the answer myself so I'll eat the candy bar, but for your info, it's an access hole that enables you to remove the bolts on the flywheel(or something) to be able to remove the tranny. The cover that goes there is made of rubber that is held on by a metal clip that cost $8.00.
