Yep, just lift straight up. No clips or fasteners in there; it just rides down into a slot.

Ok, so I tried to lift it up using light to f you levels of force and J is right, something has a death grip on it. It feels attached to the 9 O' clock position on the strut tower. Cant even see a place to lube.I dont see a bracket. Even with moving thee vac hoses above it. inner fender is off and it feels like there is a screw access hole maybe, but def the bottom of a spot welded bracket exactly at 9. Dynamite?

I pulled this picture from my old 2.5 Removal Guide thread, and in the bottom center of the image you can see what the strut tower looks like behind the reservoir, that's all you're doing - pull the plastic tab straight up out of the flat metal loop:
