hey i just did a search and really didn't find what i was looking for. i was offered a pair of fully ported manifolds. i was wondering if these would be comparable to the headers as far as sound and performance gain.i assume by port he means gutted cats and each exhaust port is machined open to the max. what do you guys think?

Headers are better for overall gains, as the design is much more optimal than the stock manifolds, however, if headers are out of your price range then what you got is good enough.

While this topic is up, would an average exhaust shop be able/willing to port them? just outta curiosity.

it costs about 20$ and 1-2 hours of labour to port them yourself... all you need is the right bits for a run of the mill drill.... if you have a die grinder even better... either case do it yourself....

a few more hp... the more "other" mods you have the better the gains

Puck, any how-to's or instructions on porting then ourselves?
a how-to??? simply take a grinder and remove any excess metal you can get to in order to allow for better flow...
