When I turn my defroster on and then cut it off I hear a loud popping sound comming from behind the vents. Does anyone know what this is???

Uhhh... it's the defroster turning on and off? It's normal.

It never did it in my other cougar and it just started doing it in this one. I've had this car for almost a year and it just started last month

Yea... your vents work by a plastic valve changing positions for defrost, face, feet and combos all the noise is is that moving back and forth when you change something... if anyone knows how a guy could get in there and lube it up that would be super.
