I knew I should have bought an MTX but I didnt. I have an ATX and I was wondering what all possibly could I do to this car to make it better performance wise. I already have an AEM intake. I am soon going to take it to get a custom exhaust done on it. But, what are some other things? And how much would these things cost.
What would be better for me a show or performance? Basically should I just put the nice system and screen's, or should I go for the power. Personally..I want power..but, is this possible?

the harsh cold reality of it is that while you can improve the ATX's performance... an equally or slightly less modified cougar will always have the advantage.


go for show stuff... but definitely stop along the way to do all the 'bolt on' performance mods just for fun, they aren't a TOTAL waste

EL CID runs a '99 ATX with nitrous (N2O), and with the addition of an auxiliary trans cooler (First thing you should do for any type of ATX mods!), intake, headers, and exhaust, he's quick (not fast, but quick). He runs a 55 shot on a ZEX dry kit. Install is straightforward, relatively inexpensive.

it's hard to decide between show and performance. I prefer show because I'm an ATX, but then there's that idiot in the MTX honda civic revving at me and smoking me on the highway. :disgust: Then I want performance. I only have the intake and duals for show and sound..the intake color matches my engine color scheme, so it's all good. I'd like to be a tad faster tho, this car is underrated with horsepower...it should have at least 200 stock, ask anybody. If I were you, I'd go with neons, TVs, and a thumping sound system. Just think, when somebody smokes you, you can blame it on the 300lbs of electronics in your car and 19" chromes that they don't have
