hey i am looking for a good performance chip that will boost my hp and i want to get a good one that is custom for the cougar...not one that will fry my whole electrics....anyone know where i can get one? and what woudl the performance gains be? about? i have an 02 atx

ok i was readnig a few threads so mabe i shoudl list my mods for you so you guys can help a little more...i have an injen intake and dual borla set up...that is all the performance i have what chip shoudl i go with? how much will it cost? and will i notice a big gain?

get the 3.0 UIM, SVT TB, gut your precats or get headers, port/polish your heads and Then get the chip. Currently you probably wont gain more than 5-8hp with a chip, and i believe thats on the optimistic side. Unfortunatly Duratecs dont respond well to ECU upgrades N/A without lots of other stuff first.

Chips are usually the last thing you'll want to do- There's so much more work you can do before trying to muck with the computer- Larger intake manifolds, headers, P&P, hi-flow cat, etc...

ok so i wont go with the chip yet.....i have emissions so i cant gut the precats....and i have a warranty so i cant get new headers and im pretty sure i cant get the upper intake manifold....what should i do to gain some noticable performance? i am not looking for performance too much im mostly cosmetic but i want to be able to burn any civic or other ricer for that matter...what should i get ?

Yeah, sucks man. Mines still under warranty for a few more years so it's basically stuck for now. I've got an intake, looking for an exhaust but I think thats about the only thing I can do performance wise before screwing my warranty. I'm sorta forced to do cosmetics now. Actually, will the tb void the warranty? I know you have to break a gasket so...... I dunno.

yo i have headers full weapons r exhaust and injen intake also new sparkplug wires im done witht he engine but shuld i get a chip if so im thinkin the venom 400 chip
