Does anyone know if there is any prep work that needs to be done before painting the hood. The guy at the body shop said that it may not match up with the rest of the car because it is fiberglass. He was going to have his painter look at it and get back to me, at which point it is my decision if I just want them to paint it as is or have them coat it or something first. I am ignorant to the whole procedure, plus I don't particularly trust this place's opinion, so any info would be much appreciated. Thanks

fiberglass actually has a good chance to look different than metal.. depends on the quality of the fiberglass and paint and primer.... it is tricky to get it to match perfect when painting just one piece... when painting the whole car or blending into the surrrounding panels it will ensure a perfect match
