ok, this might be a really dumb question that can be answered really easily but i cant seem to find the answer. i just recently bought a 1999 cougar, and i dont think the color is a factory color because i have never seen another cougar the same color as mine. anyway, the paint code in the door says BJ, what color does that stand for? sorry if this is a dumb question

Ummm It should be letters and #.... Mine is T61.... Ive had ground effects and a spoiler painted.......

Ok.. there was some discussion on this a few days ago.. T61 is the body style.. I have Zink Yellow and on the sticker it also says T61 same with any 99+ Coug.. Its the numbers right above the T61.. mine was B7 if I remember correctly.

in 1999 Mercury made an Ash Gold Cougar.... IT IS A STOCK COLOR.... there are a few colors that are year specific... like yours and Autumn Orange...
