I'm gonna paint my dash here as soon as i figure out how to remove the outside vents
i got the inner ones out no prob.. the 2 right by eachother that is..
but the one on the passenger side.. hth do i get that outta there?

tilt the vent as if it was blowing up. take a flash light and look at the very bottom of the vent. there will be 2 tabs. 1 and 8 o'clock and anther at 5 o'clock. get 2 long flat screwdrivers. stick them in there. and gently press down. the vent should come out with a little bit of gentle tugging

No you have to take out the glovebox and go up through the bottom. There is a HEX screw up in there. You will need a flashlight and a medium length screwdriver. You will be able to get that vent for the ac and to defog the window.
