Other kids coming to CF??

I'm bringing my (11 year old) daughter again. She had a blast last year, enjoying both the road trip and Fest itself. (My most effective threat has become "If you don't behave well, you can't come to Fest this year.")

Anyone else bringing kids? Yes I know it's early, but family vacations take planning.....

Anyone else interested in helping to figure out some kids-type programming? Also some kid corralling so we get time off? My daughter likes watching over younger kids if she knows can get immediate help from an adult if needed.

I don't think my brain could handle a 4 year old and 7 year old for a 35 hour road trip
We will have to have some rules about the kids activities around the cougars.... Although I am on the committee planning the event for this year, at last years event i heard lots of complaints about children around the cougars last year in the parking lot of the hotel....

This year, there will be no football, kick ball, baseball, rollerblading, riding bikes, etc in the area of the vehicles... If anyone (children or grown ups) which to do so, there is a big field near the hotel they can use...
It wasn't the kids playing football near the cars... it was the members. :disgust:

Now why does this sound like a catholic school teacher on the first day of school?
Sorry but some us have invested more money into our cars than the car is worth... Last thing we want is to have a kid fall into our fiberglass body kit or scratch the paint... Am I alone? Even with the hatewagons I have on these boards, I doubt it...
The kids who were riding the bikes and scratching the cars weren't anyone from NECO either, they were just kids from the park.

Marge if you want, I can see about babysitting in the area so you can have some fun too.

I have kids, but I am not bringing them. I think I would spend most of the time breaking up fights or trying to keep them away from the cars.

no you're not alone
however, I trust anyone that brings their children to watch their every move and never lose sight of them, and also to teach them respect for other people's property.
I can't stand kids, but each of the family oriented shows I've entered my car into, all of the kids were very well behaved and respected each and every car and its owner.
Im with you Kim, but I love kids, I just don't think we need to have such strickt rules. I mean rules are there for a reason, and No I do not want anything on my car to get damaged, but I do think that the kids brought by cougar owners would have manners enough to know when to run and play and when to be serious.
While I understand what James is saying...I must agree with everyone else that I don't think it was NECO members kids that people had a problem with....they were local kids on bikes.
Sometimes my fiance says I act like a child... Does that mean I will not be able to participate in all the events?
lol... youth is limited... but immaturity is infinite.

Don't worry about that.
Can I keep them in the trunk?
I didn't even notice any kids when we were at the hotel... so if there were any, they must have been behaving well  As far as the kids at the park itself, they were annoying - for reasons like that alone I could see why people wouldn't want children around the cars.

I am bringing myself.. I think that counts! Plus I love hanging around kids.. or kids love hanging around me..

As long as the kids disappear during the night so I can really act like an immature adult.

Yeah the kids that were playing at Mt. Trashmore were not part of the NECO crowd... One person's car i remember that got damaged was DgnZcoug...

I wasn't at last years fest but the fest before we had a few kids to include Marge's daughter and Jen's son and there were no problems, as a matter of fact I barely remember seeing them they were so well behaved.
I'm a kid, 16, 17 when CF rolls around. Can I bring my Dad??
