and now I am strugling with the vents...I took them out of the gray part that surrounds the vent, but now I am trying to separate the front of the vent (where the three bars are) and the back of the vent...

can anyone help me?

I think they snap on to two parts on the top and bottom of the back vent. You have to pull it apart.
