I felt like painting my 01 cowl dash. heres how it came out. since i have silver outline flames, and chrome wheels and headlights, i thought the silver would be a nice accent.

Thaqt's awsome! how hard was it to do? I want to get my dash painted or something.... I just did my calipers in a similar blue and its spiffy.

theres nothing 2 it. really easy, just sand everything down, prime it and paint it. i hardly even sanded the dash cowl because of the diamond cut. its still fine tho. i recommend using Dupli Color Filler Primer. that stuff is da ****!

this is a stupid question but you did take it out of the car right and if so is it easy to take out i want to do mine in silver but am scared as chit when it comes to taking things apart i'm scared ill break it that why i havent got new gauges any helpful hints

ps it does look real good

it honestly is very, very easy. here is a site with the how 2, its very easy as i just said. click me once u have the front part off and time 2 take off the cowl part,(above the gauges) i recommend pulling up on the right side and sliding your finger all the way around it, that seems 2 work the best. hope this helps

materials

sanded everything with 600 grit sandpaper
1.)dupli color filler primer(GREAT STUFF) 3.99
2.)Metalcast Ground coat(what the silver accent pieces are on my dash) 4.99
3.)Metalcast Base coat Blue 4.99
