Hello everyone,
I've been interested in new edge Cougars for a while, after seeing some local ones sitting in front yards, around the local train station, and on this forum. Really considered them though when I saw a mint Amazon green cougar opposite my grandparents house (very nice). Anyway, bought my first car the other day, after finally finding a manual one without damage for sale. SX Cougar in Amazon green, V6, 5 spd manual, 80,000 kms! In great condition, very happy with it and quite surprised with the levels of practicality (namely the boot space) and features like seat warming. I've only driven it on local roads so far, but I'm looking forward to taking it on some outings on weekends and being part of this forum!
(sorry for picture quality, was raining/excited when I got home)

Welcome! It's been a while since we've seen a RHD car around here. It seems like Aussies had several options the rest of the world didn't get so it's always interesting to follow you guys. The last few seemed like they were really having a hard time finding parts so let us know if you need help procuring anything.

That color was pretty common on the SVT Contour, but didn't make it onto a lot of Cougars. The US name was "Tropic Green".

Great find! Still amazed to see that low-mile specimens are still out there.

Love that it's a high-spec model yet still no wing - I've never cared for the wings that Ford put on these cars. And cool aftermarket front grille insert, too.

Thanks everyone!
Surprisingly there are a a fair few cougars still going over here (and quite a few being wrecked too), but I'm sure I'll be relying on this site as parts get more scarce thanks. As for options, I think the wing was a dealer fitted extra in Australia(?). Apparently the seller said he made the grille insert in his garage.

You wont have many parts issues at least. I've found parts on uk ebay much more frequently than ours. Websites for parts and oem too! It'd be amazing to have a member where you are to take a fee to order and ship us parts we can never get here and (to us yanks) junkyard only (if youre lucky) parts. Here are the direct ads if you want to ask the wreckers about parts and shipping. Otherwise, I'm sure I could buy the parts and ship them :)
