Does anyone know how to replace the passeger side door window. I have the track and motor exposed and I have the new glass to install but I was needing some info on how to do the install correctly.

Vandals broke my window on saturday so I'll be at the yard trying to pull one tomorrow. Any assistance or advice would be wonderful. Ktown's post makes me feel that it is doable...

hmmm. I suppose when in doubt bring a ton of tools to the yard. Really though I'm surprised that there isn't anything on here about it. Ten years.... how bout a tutorial yo? Hope it doesn't rain..

i doubt theres much to it really....just take off any screws that you see in the way.

Forecast is calling for snow tomorrow so it may get a raincheck! I'm sure that I can figure it out in reverse at the junkyard. I just don't want to do something stupid like get it wedged and snap it or something. I'm used to working on scouts and motorcycles. Plenty of room to access everything. The cougar has been a lesson in claustrophobic spacial management. Not to mention that it appears the designers threw in odd starhead screws and such seemingly at random. :bowdown: I look to the mechanics who have gone before me to try and save me knuckle skin and frustration. Four years of owning this car I still feel like a newbie! This is my first actual fuel injected vehicle (unless that throttle bodied bronco II I owned for a few months counts).

Mucha appreciado lost racer. I got one out of the junkyard, got it tinted and got it reinstalled. Put everything back together and closed the door. Door didn't close! Glass was about a quarter inch high? Possibly some debris or broken glass in the way at the clamp end or something. By then it was pouring and I'm sneezing. For any future cougar people:
Taking the panel off the door -
1) there are three star head body screws around the perimeter
2) there is a long star head body screw at the bottom hinge side of the door (just a small hole in the felt on mine)
3) there is a long phillips head screw under the black pop out button in the fabric
4) there is a long phillips head screw under the small cougar image button

Lift panel free.

four button connections, brown, blue, green and black; disconnect them
Two phillip heads hold the handle on from the inside; undo them and pull the handle through the panel

put the panel aside.

Good luck. btw, window was 27 dollars used, tint was twenty five dollars.
