I started it today and I kinda got pretty far in a couple hours! Itll take me another week or two and a LOT of sanding to finish, but it should turn out exactly the way I wanted to. Here are some crappy pictures of what I completed today. Also, note that there will be a pod on the other side also. The gauges will not obstruct the view of the warning lights :) Pretty soon my entire interior is getting all redone along with some body work, so i cant wait!

Wow, Thats really really awesome. I heard that working with FiberGlass is a really hard thing to do. Congrats on the custom interior work you got going on. You rock! It can only get better from here! I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures. So jealous right now......

Thanks everyone! Ive done a fair bit of glass work, I fixed a completely busted Blitz front off an Eclipse and fiberglassed my engine cover. Fiberglassing is fairly easy once ya get the hang of it and know some simple things to do. I found out Fiberglass resin burns, the hard way!! LOL

if I actually had a real sander I wouldnt mind doing this stuff for folks but I have to do everything by hand :(

The two extra gauges should compliment the other three lol I attached a pic of my interior.

I just used plain mat. This kind is really hard to work with though. When i start on the other side im gonna use a more flexible mat. THis kind is stiff as anything! The only reason I did this today was because I had the day off. If I didnt work so much I would be able to finish this soon! I may go pick up a hand sander this friday so maybe ill have it all done and primed when sunday evening comes around. Ill definatly post more pics.

EDIT: Yeah , I saw your setup in person James. I liked the idea and think it looks amazing, but I wanted to be able to use my overhead lights and see the warning lights come on, cause i still need em :(

I started a similar gauge pod a while back. Didnt get close to being done. Then I didnt want to run the oil psi line up to the headliner. So I looked around for different gauges to fit, but nothing yet, so its been in a box. Ive reconstructed the upper console 5 times already, now I have a big hole waiting for the stock one to come in. Maybe one day someone will want a trade for a stock one...anyone...out there...ill even finish it...help a guy out...throw me a frickin upper console....
