the competitor: one of my buddies has a semi-modded neon. kinda ricey, but its fast for what it is. its not one of those srt's. i'm not sure on what he all has done to it, but i've witnessed him with his front bumper equal to the rear bumper of an SVT Focus mtx... so its not exactly slow.
so i pull up to him in the parking lot after school and rev my engine to show off with my flowmasters (he has a can). he asks if i wanna run em, i say sure. so we head out to the local drag racing road that is just out of town. between a field driveway and the start of a bridge is exactly a quarter mile. so we start at the bridge.
his lil sister gets out to flag us. i drop the clutch at around 2700rpms, spun a lil, but took off pretty good. picture-perfect shifts all the way through and by the time we get to the driveway i was about 2 lengths in front of him.
we met up afterwards and he was surprised to say the least. he thought my car was all show but didnt really have any power. its nothin big, but it does mark down a win for me and the rest of the cougar world.
