My friend has a Silver WRX that I helped him modify. Well I pulled
my front bumper off for winter and put on my stock 15's. Getting ready to
tuck her away. So we decided it'd be fun to run the cars one last time just
to see who would win.
The first run was on a wide open stretch of freeway.
60mph roll, I was going to beep three and then go. I asked if he was ready
he got excited and slammed the gas when I yelled "ready?" So he had his
back door at my front end before I could downshift to 3rd. I ran third out and
we were even. I shifted into 4th without missing a beat and walked the back of
my car to his front. By the time 4th was done we were around 100+ and I had
an easy car length on him.
The second run was on a main road we both were in front at a red light.
I saw the other side of the light turn yellow so I knew our green was coming.
I said "get ready" (hoping he would start building boost) he did but it was to late
the light turned and he got a crappy start. I lit my tires up like a fool. Ran 1st out
squealed into 2nd ran that out and at the end of third I had about a car and a half on him.
The reason he had a bad start was we were on a hill so he was having a hard time
reving and staying in place. We both agree it would've been very interesting if he would've had
a normal launch.
