I am again planning Mini-Fest this year. There are a couple little changes this year. We are going later in the month so we can enjoy the Hallo-Weekends at Cedar Point. This is something we have always seen them working on and couldn't ride some smaller rides because of, but we have never went to a Hallo-Weekend. The hotel has changed and the info on the Mini-Fest page will be updated in the next couple of days. Due to the new waterpark at our old hotel the prices almost doubled from what we paid the last couple years. The new hotel will be:
Comfort Inn Cedar Point Maingate
1711 Cleveland Rd. , Sandusky, OH, 44870

Rates Starting at $69.29/night
It is right by our old hotel with similar prices to what we had been paying. I had some people from other states asking if we were having the event this year, so there is some interest already brewing. Mention it to all your NECO friends in our neighboring states.

I posted in the events, Illinois, Keystone, and Motor Cities sections. Can't wait since I haven't been to the point since 2 years ago Mini-Fest.
Craig, Brian, Patrick, and I are all planning to attend. 
And possibly two other people too.
We were up there about a month a go but we are ready to go back again. This time we plan on coming up and staying at the hotel. Enough with me being a cheap bastered.

I'm not missing it this year...Sarah and I will be there for sure, I havent been to cedar point since the Millenium first opened

I might be able to go but I'm wondering...why don't you go to a hotel that's closer to the park? I know that hotel isn't far but there are ones that are either right there at the park, within walking distance, or the one I have in mind which is on the same road as the park (less driving = less chance of getting split up) Also, these hotels offer a package deal where you stay two nights and you get free park tickets and some other stuff....here's a link to the one that's not right by the park but really close (and there's a McDonald's right across the street to eat at)

Oh by the way, did anyone ever eat at East of Chicago's Pizza Place?? I LOVE that place!!

since the waterpark went in the Hotel prices went thought the roof, , it would be better just to go down the street a ways so you dont have to spend all the extra mula on room, i know i dont have the extra money for it...

ColumbusRacing is looking to go the same time we are... do we get a discount rate? Thats' what they were talking about, on the 24th.. I told them about us.. no response yet.

The reason for not going with the package is that most people only want to stay one night at the hotel (ie. Saturday night) so because the package deals are for a 2 nights stay they wouldn't really work for the majority of people. That's not to say that if you would prefer to stay at another hotel with the package deal that you can't. Your welcome to stay anywhere. I just try to find a good deal for a hotel really close that we can all stay at together. As far as getting seperated driving in, we never get seperated until we have to pay for parking and that can't be helped no matter what, but we have a solution to that, we just don't listen to the parking attendants and go directly to the beginning of the next row.

i like that idea of going where ever we want. being rebels and all. :biggrin: anyway you know i will be there. just wish i had more room so that everyone could stay at my place. no vacancy! cant wait. want to ride the dragster again 3 times like last year. kick a$$!

I'll definately be there as always. Be kinda sad if i didn't make it being that i live only 20-30 mins away... Still don't know if i'm going to have my car or not...
Planning to be there, and hopefully to stay overnight this time. Driving home at 2am SUCKS.
Note - you can also buy discounted tickets at the service desk at many Ohio MEIJER locations. FYI...

i didnt mean it like that, all the hotels around CP the prices went up due to the waterpark that was put in
Gotchya. I'm interested in going. So the day we actually go to the park is Saturday right? I've never been there for Halloweekend! What do they have going on?
