Has anyone tried to mill down the 3L heads instead of using the 2.5L heads?

Don't do it.

Removing too much material will cause the timing chain tensionors to pick up more slack than they normally would. As the chain wears, the tensioner may not have any slack left to pick up. This could result in serious engine damage, bent valves, broken cam or crank gears, or even a broken chain.

...And stock is .100"... Mill it closer than that? Not at 7000RPMs, thanks... :ugh:
