Do we have mechanical or hydraulic lifters? I am curious casue we have the bastard engine and around our years most zetecs had mechanically controlled cams.

The Zetec lifters are mechanical. Valve lash adjustments are made by using shims. If I'm not mistaken these shims are available in 52 different thicknesses and are sized by 100th of a millimeter. For example, 122 would be 1.22 mm.
